چکیده

Two-loop evolutions of the gauge couplings in a class of intermediate scale supersymmetric SO(10) models including the effect of third generation Yukawa couplings are studied. The unification scale, the intermediate scale and the value of the unification gauge coupling in these models are calculated and the gauge boson mediated proton decay rates are estimated. In some cases the predicted proton lifetime turns out to be in the border-line of experimental limit. The predictions of the top quark mass, the mass ratio mb(mb)/mτ (mτ ) from the two-loop evolution of Yukawa couplings and the mass of the left handed neutrino via see-saw mechanism are summarized. The lower bounds on the ratio of the VEVs of the two low energy doublets (tanβ) from the requirement of the perturbative unitarity of the top quark Yukawa coupling up to the grand unification scale are also presented. All the predictions have been compared with those of the one-step unified theory.

αs(mZ), intermediate scales and Fermion masses in supersymmeric theories; two-loop results

One way to generate an intermediate scale being consistent with gauge coupling unification is to add new Higgs scalars above the intermediate scale. We classify such scenarios according to their degree of departure from minimal supersymmetric standard model. Thereafter, we summarize the results of a two-loop renormalization group analysis of the gauge and the Yukawa sectors of such scenarios, a...

Two-loop effective potential for the minimal supersymmetric standard model

I compute the complete two-loop effective potential for the minimal supersymmetric standard model in the Landau gauge. This enables an accurate determination of the minimization conditions for the vacuum expectation values of the Higgs fields. Checks on the result follow from supersymmetric limits and from renormalization-scale invariance. The renormalization group equations for the field-indep...

Renormalization Group Running of Fermion Observables in an Extended Non-Supersymmetric SO(10) Model

We investigate the renormalization group evolution of fermion masses, mixings and quartic scalar Higgs self-couplings in an extended non-supersymmetric SO(10) model, where the Higgs sector contains the 10H, 120H, and 126H representations. The group SO(10) is spontaneously broken at the GUT scale to the Pati–Salam group and subsequently to the Standard Model (SM) at an intermediate scale MI. We ...

A theoretical upper bound on the mass scale of superpartners

If N = 2 supersymmetry breaks to N = 1 supersymmetry at an intermediate scale m2 and then, later on, N = 1 supersymmetry breaks and produces standard model at a scale msusy such that m2 > msusy, renormalization group evolution of three gauge couplings are altered above the scale m2, changing the unification scale and the unified coupling. We show that when we enforce this general condition m2 >...

Two-loop renormalization of gaugino mass in supersymmetric gauge model∗

We study the two-loop renormalization group equation for the running gaugino mass in the supersymmetric gauge theory. We find that both in the MS and DR renormalization schemes, the well-known proportionality of the runnings of the gaugino mass and the gauge coupling constant is violated at the two-loop order, even in models with vector supermultiplets only. Scheme dependence of the running gau...
